Natively Digital was the first curated exhibition and auction of NFTs at Sotheby's globally. Curated by Robert Alice, the project featured and brough to market some of the most important art historically important NFTs, including Kevin McCoy's Quantum (2014) which is generally regarded as the first NFT ever made. Other significant works included Rhea Myer's Secret Artwork (Content) (2018), Robert Alice's To the Young Artists of Cyberspace (2021), and a world record for Larva Labs, Covid Alien (2016). The exhibition was held concurrently in London, New York, Hong Kong and Decentraland. We showcase some of the earliest, raw NFTs built on pre-Ethereum chains alongside newer, complex NFTs that showcase the cutting edge technical innovation. From across four continents, we have sourced emerging crypto artists and the ‘old masters’ alike to exhibit their works. The multi-venue global exhibition is presented in partnership with Samsung, featuring their lineup of innovative TVs and Projectors to showcase various NFT artworks. The landmark auction will provide an opportunity for collectors, curators, and enthusiasts to focus on the emerging ideas and aesthetics contained within these works.
